In 2017 we continued to push for policy changes supporting a more sustainable built environment, through our membership of industry and cross-sector groups, including The Aldersgate Group, the UK Green Building Council, IEMA, Build UK, Construction Youth Trust and Forum for the Future.
Our people spoke on sustainability topics at a range of forums, including Ecobuild, UK Construction Week, CIBSE Build2Perform, and BSRIA Soft Landings Conference.
We were part of the discussion at the House of Commons Debate on the future of Social Value with Chris White (author of Social Value act).
We represented our industry at the Government Property Unit’s Soft Landings consultation meeting, and with Defra to influence its waste strategy.
Group CEO, Rick Willmott, was appointed a Trustee of the UK-Green Building Council.

We are the first UK contractor to achieve BRE BIM Level 2 Business certification in every business and office.
Our new national product team is driving a new ‘Engineered Value’ approach, which takes a stand against value engineering – late-in-the-day cost cutting which rarely adds any value – and instead assesses a project from a true manufacturing perspective to design in certainty and efficiency at every stage of the process.
