Havering College students see construction in action

90 students studying construction, engineering or plumbing learn what it’s like to use their skills on site...

As part of our project on Gascoigne East, we have supported 90 students who are studying either Construction and the Built Environment, Engineering or Plumbing at Havering College.

Our teams have hosted workshops on routes into construction, personal branding, skills and abilities, CV workshops, interview skills, mock interviews and site tours, and plan to host students for work experience over the next year at Gascoigne Phase 2.

Jane Nugent, Work Experience & Industry Placement Coordinator and Havering College said: “I wanted to send over a little note thanking you for all your mega support: countless classroom presentations, mock interviews, mindset and employability talks and upskilling sessions, plus site visits at some of the busiest and largest sites in the country!

“Students seeing a real working site in its raw state really helps them to get a better understanding of the world of work. Without proactive employers like yourself, my job would not be the same. It is always a pleasure working with you and your teams and I am really looking forward to continuing our, strong and healthy partnership to come.”
