Willmott Dixon’s specialist sustainability arm, Re-Thinking, beat a shortlist containing some of the UK’s biggest household names to win the prestigious title of ‘Sustainability Team of the Year’ at the 2014 BusinessGreen Leaders Awards.
The awards celebrate the leading businesses and people from across the green economy and Re-Thinking was singled out for its work in supporting Willmott Dixon's ability to meet its tough carbon and waste targets. This includes being a carbon neutral business and diverting over 90 per cent of construction waste away from landfill. Re-Thinking’s expertise also helped Willmott Dixon drive sustainability across the construction sector through collaboration in a number of industry groups.
Key achievements that helped win the award:
• Providing specialist knowledge that enabled Willmott Dixon to launch an industry-leading sustainable development strategy containing some of the most challenging targets in the sector.
• Supporting how the company achieved significant reductions in carbon and waste intensity over the last three years.

• Leadership of industry groups which are having a huge positive impact on the sustainability of the construction industry.
• Over 1000 supply chain members signed up to the Supply Chain Sustainability School.
