Willmott Dixon completes work on new Information Teaching Lab for Queen Mary University of London
New laboratory space focuses on sustainability while increasing teaching capacity at the Mile End Campus.
Willmott Dixon has picked up its third major housing project in the London Borough of Camden, where it’s currently building the UK’s biggest Passivhaus residential scheme on Chester Road.
Reflecting its growing workload for residential developers, the company has been selected by Taylor Wimpey Central London for a £9 million contract to deliver Regent Canalside, a high-quality waterside residential scheme in the heart of Camden. It will see Willmott Dixon build 52 new homes across three blocks ranging from four to eight storeys, as well as two new retail units.
Construction work starts in November and will complete in Spring 2014, with a quarter of the homes available for affordable rent. The site is situated to the west side of Camden Road in a mainly residential area with close proximity to a variety of retail outlets, restaurants and offices, plus public transport providing quick access to the centre of London.
Ingrid Skinner, managing director for Taylor Wimpey Central London says: “We are delighted with the quality of finish that Willmott Dixon achieve and we are looking forward to working with them again on this project.”
It is Willmott Dixon Capital Work’s second housing project for Taylor Wimpey Central London following the recent completion of The Mill Apartments in West Hampstead, also in Camden, demonstrating the company’s broad customer base and versatility as a builder of homes for private sale, affordable rent and delivering entire estate regenerations over multiple phases. It is also responsible for building a number of residential projects for in-house developer Regen.
