Willmott Dixon is simplifying how its supply chain bids for work by introducing an online system to improve efficiency, reduce administration and speed up the bid process.
The company’s Capital Works division, which delivers construction, housing and fit-out work, is adopting the online pre-qualification data exchange service Builder’s Profile to streamline and manage the PPQ information it requires from suppliers.
Sub-Contractors can use the portal provided by the Builder's Profile service to create their PPQ data, which can be shared with other major contractors without needing to answer questions more than once.
Over the next few months, Willmott Dixon will engage with its suppliers on how best to switch to Builder's Profile to ease the time consuming process of pre-qualification assessment.
David Smith, a commercial director at Willmott Dixon, said “One of our main objectives this year has been to focus on how we make the process for supplier to bid for work more efficient for them.
“By using Builder’s Profile, our supply chain can use a single pre-qualification assessment that is available to other main contractors, which is another way we can assist in improving efficiency within the construction industry. “
Paul Long, operations director at the Builder’s Profile, adds, “In working with Builder’s Profile, Willmott Dixon is giving their supply chain the opportunity to streamline their PQQ processes and make significant improvements to industry PQQ efficiency and sustainability.”
