The school is a first for the industry, and is part of our continued commitment to lead the industry into a brighter, more sustainable future.
A fundamental element of the virtual School is the smart self-assessment and action planning tool which sets it apart from other web based sustainability resources and information portals. Faced with a wide range of support available, deciding where to start their sustainability journey is a significant issue in engaging suppliers. The school’s innovative approach helps each school member develop a unique sustainability action plan tailored to what they do, who they do it for, the level of sustainability impacts in their trade and their current level of competence. Once completed, a supplier can re-assess and access an updated action plan resulting in a process of continuous improvement.
Along with 15 hours of on-line learning resources the school also organises regular supplier days and conferences, which the member contractors take in turns to host.
