Sandfields Care Home

Sandfields is a purpose built luxury care home providing 90 apartments arranged over three floors and configured in six suites of 15 beds.

Each home has en-suite wet rooms, flat screen TVs and access to a 24 hour nurse call system. It enables people to live independently while also have access to specialised facilities when needed.

Close-knit community fee

Each floor is divided into two units, with a joint dining room and lounge, to create a 'community within a community' feel that is popular with residents. The light and airy spaces on each floor provides areas where residents can also come together for social and recreational activities.

Other facilities include cafe, cinema, hairdressers, four landscaped gardens and other external facilities for relaxation and recreation.

The home provides a range of facilities for older people to suit their needs, including full time residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as short-term respite care.

The ethos of Sandfields is to allow residents to keep active and enjoy independent living, with full-time co-ordinators providing activities all day that meet people's interests. This include baking and gardening, quizzes and games.

Added value

We delivered the construction programme to practical completion in 58 weeks. Our in-house planners monitored progress again the programme and worked closely with the project team to ensure the tight delivery schedule was achieved, enabling residents to move in sooner and Care UK to maximise revenue through early sales and rental agreements.

The team also engaged with local schools to provide work placements and apprentice opportunities, with three people joining us on the project who are now working elsewhere in the company.
