Families joining ellenor’s We’re Going on a Bear Hunt art trail in Dartford this summer can win free leisure passes thanks to Dartford-based contractor Willmott Dixon and Fairfield Leisure.
Anyone who finds and scans Willmott Dixon’s sponsored bear on the trail, which runs across Dartford and Bluewater Shopping Centre from July to September 2026, will receive a free one-day pass to Fairfield Leisure Centre, giving them access to the gym, pool and fitness classes.
The reward links two strands of community life that Willmott Dixon is heavily associated with in Dartford: Fairfield Leisure Centre, which the company built ten years ago, and ellenor, the local hospice charity that provides specialist care to families across North Kent and Bexley.
Richard Poulter, Managing Director for Willmott Dixon’s construction business in the South, said:
“Willmott Dixon has been part of the fabric of Dartford for many years. We have an office in the town, our colleagues live across North Kent and Bexley, and we’ve delivered important buildings that local families use every week – such as Fairfield Leisure Centre. Working with Fairfield Leisure and ellenor on this prize gives children a creative day out exploring the trail, gives families free time at the leisure centre, and raises money for a charity that does extraordinary work across Kent.”
The prize forms part of a wider package of Willmott Dixon support for ellenor, which includes sponsoring one of the trail’s 30 Big Bears, fundraising through the ellenor Twilight Walk in Gravesend, and ongoing volunteering by the company’s Kent-based colleagues.
ellenor’s art trail is delivered in partnership with Dartford Borough Council and Wild in Art, the internationally acclaimed creator of public sculpture trails seen in cities worldwide. Inspired by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury’s classic children’s book, the trail will feature 30 Big Bears and 30 Bear Cubs decorated by local artists, schools and community groups, before being auctioned in October 2026 to raise funds for ellenor.
Sue Piper, Director of Income Generation at ellenor, added:
“This is exactly the kind of community partnership that makes the Bear Hunt so special. By teaming up with Fairfield Leisure, Willmott Dixon is helping us bring families together, get them outdoors, and support the specialist hospice care we provide every day for adults and children across North Kent and Bexley.”
Willmott Dixon’s involvement in the Bear Hunt continues a longstanding commitment to Kent, and a wider track record of supporting hospice charities that provide vital care for local families."
