Willmott Dixon hosts preview of Open Doors 2026 ready for record-breaking annual initiative
Team welcomed students to Queen Mary University of London project in major drive to attract next generation
Willmott Dixon is set to benefit from £350 million of work over the next four years after winning the Scape National Contractors Framework against major competition.
Scape is a local authority-controlled company that enables public sector clients to save time and money by providing OJEU compliant framework agreements for construction related services. The agreements can save clients up to nine months procurement time and considerable cost instead of individually going through the OJEU tender process. Under this framework, Willmott Dixon will be Scape’s sole delivery partner for new-build and refurbishment projects that local authorities procure using Scape.
Willmott Dixon has been Scape’s sole delivery partner since October 2006. The previous framework has successfully completed its value a year early due to high demand from its public sector clients.
Scape provides efficient and effective solutions for local authorities in England, Scotland and Wales to deliver projects which range in value from £2m to £30m. As well as being a direct purchasing vehicle for the public sector, it also provides a unique and very efficient system build solution for projects.
Through the Scape framework, public bodies can appoint Willmott Dixon to deliver a wide scope of facilities that include local education, further and higher education, health, emergency services, residential, care homes, leisure, depots and commercial facilities.
Willmott Dixon will be using its full mix of services, which include major contracting, housing and interior fit-out, to carry out the work over the next four years.
The previous Scape National framework enabled Willmott Dixon to develop long-term partnerships with local authorities and other public sector bodies in all areas of the country. The local collaborations enabled clients to not only save on procurement time and cost, but also benefit from a continuous improvement cycle, local expenditure local community engagement.
Scape CEO, Mark Robinson was very enthusiastic about the future, “We are delighted that Willmott Dixon have been selected as our partner on the national framework for a further 4 years. This has been a very demanding procurement exercise and Willmott Dixon provided us with an exceptional offering that our clients will be able to take advantage of for their projects.”
Willmott Dixon chief executive officer, John Frankiewicz says, “Winning the Scape National Framework for a second time is a tremendous achievement. With public sector spending set to be squeezed over the coming years, and local government under pressure to reduce costs while maintaining good public services, we believe the efficiency gains through Scape will be important in making local government spending go further and achieving greater value for money.
“Over the past three years we have provided Scape clients with high quality projects that provide excellent value for money. We are excited at the challenge of doing this for a further four years.”
